"Honky-Tonk Fever"

I like living on a quiet little street
Still I got to get out and hear that honky-tonk beat
A night on the town is what I really enjoy

Where there’s a live country band playing my kind of noise.

I get the honky-tonk
fever, country western blues
Boogie-woogie pneumonia, rock-a-billy flu
So I head out to heaven, I’m a believer
With one hell of a real hot, honky-tonk fever

I’ve been
working real hard for the things that I need
And I’m ready for whatever by the end of the week
I grab a new shirt and an old pair of jeans
Money for the juke box and a shot of Jim Beam

Ain’t no doubt
about it I know what to do

When I’m bit by the bug and get that boogie-woogie flu
I put on my hat, I head out the door
I’m going to wear my boots out on that old dance floor
